The MIE Racing Honda Team and Leandro ‘Tati’ Mercado move on to round six of the 2021 Superbike World Championship, scheduled to take place this coming weekend at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic.

Ten days ago, at the Dutch Assen TT circuit, Argentinian rider Mercado battled hard during the weekend’s three races, achieving a best result of twelfth aboard the CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE and showing significant improvement with respect to the season-opener at Aragón. Having sat out rounds 2 to 4 in order to work on development, the team is spurred on by its performance in The Netherlands, and enthusiastic about the possibility to compete at what is a new track for the Superbikes and where the team completed a testing session in July.

Constructed between 1978 and 1983, Autodrom Most underwent renovation work in 2003, before undergoing a change of ownership in 2014. Measuring 4.212 km in length, the track comprises 21 corners, 7 right-handers and 14 left-handers. The circuit is located in the north-west of the country, just outside the town of Most.

"In Most I expect to take another step forward compared to Assen. The circuit is new for everyone, a bit particular, very technical, quite different from the others on the calendar. Let's say it’s an "old school" circuit that has a bit of everything, very strong braking areas and also very fast sectors. I had the chance to ride there before Assen, during a private testing session, and to get an idea of the track and the set-up for the bike. This will give us a little hand to start on Friday so it will be important to start well and do a good job with the bike’s. I'm confident and looking forward to keep improving."
