The MIE Racing Honda team has arrived in Argentina and the San Juan Villicum circuit, the stage for the penultimate round of the 2021 Superbike World Championship.

This is a special event for rider Leandro ‘Tati’ Mercado, who will be competing in front of his home crowd. The Argentinian, who hails from Cordoba, will be keen to put in a good performance for his many supporters at the track.

Last year’s event was unfortunately cancelled due to the global pandemic, but during the 2019 edition Mercado did well to score three top-ten finishes, and a best of eighth in race 2. During recent rounds, the MIE Racing Honda team and rider have been making consistent progress and so will be working hard to round out the 2021 with some positive results.

"I'm happy to be back home in Argentina after two years. It’s a very special round for me, because I’ll be able to see the fans from my country and all my family who I never see during the year and who will be there in San Juan. It will be a special weekend and we want to do our very best of course, continuing to improve and take another small step. And above all, enjoy the weekend. I like the track, I went well there in 2019, and so I'm very confident ahead of the races."
